MUNIN — Sour Grape (2 Tubs)
A grape-flavored powder you stir into a glass of cold water. Twenty minutes later you have the alertness of about two coffees, without the jittery part.
How much do you want?
- 20 drinks per tub
- Mixes into cold water
- Caffeine from green tea
- Every amount printed on the tub
- Vegetarian · gluten free

Two tubs · 40 drinks · about $1.80 each, $7.90 off. One at the desk, one in the bag — and both travel in a single box, so you pay shipping once instead of twice.
What it is
A grape-flavored powder you stir into a glass of cold water — closer to a flavored electrolyte mix than to anything you would pick up at a pharmacy. No prescription and no pills. Twenty minutes after you drink it you have the alertness of about two coffees, without the jittery, heart-in-your-throat part.
How to use it
Two scoops (7.5 g) into 16 fl oz (480 ml) of cold water. Stir or shake. Drink it 20 to 30 minutes before you need to concentrate, not halfway through. It holds for roughly four hours and then tapers off rather than dropping. Take it before 2 p.m. if you sleep lightly, and never more than 5 scoops in 24 hours.
What is in one drink
- 200 mg caffeine, from green tea. The alertness — about two cups of coffee.
- 100 mg L-theanine. The calm. An amino acid found naturally in tea leaves, and the reason this does not feel like an energy drink. Caffeine paired with L-theanine is the best-studied part of this formula.
- 300 mg Alpha-GPC. A choline source. Choline is what your body uses to make acetylcholine, a messenger tied to attention and memory. The reasoning is sound, but research in healthy adults is thin — we would rather tell you that than let you assume otherwise.
- 1,000 mg L-arginine. An amino acid used to support normal blood flow. Your brain runs on what your blood delivers.
- 600 mg inositol. Involved in how brain cells pass messages to one another.
- 50 mg Asian ginseng. A root used for centuries for stamina and everyday tiredness.
- 5 mg black pepper extract. Helps the rest absorb properly.
- Seven B vitamins, 33% of your daily value each. The ordinary vitamins your body spends fastest when you are running hard.
No proprietary blend — every amount above is printed on the tub itself.
What it will not do
It will not make you smarter, and it will not rescue a night with no sleep. What it does is make an ordinary brain easier to point at one thing. If you are exhausted, sleep — that is the answer, and no powder changes it.

First question
What is it, exactly?
A drink mix — closer to a flavored electrolyte powder than to anything you would pick up at a pharmacy. No prescription, no pills.
The tub arrives
A fine purple powder and a small scoop. One tub holds twenty drinks — about three weeks if you use it on the days that are hard.
You make the drink
Two scoops into 16 fl oz of cold water — about half a litre. Stir or shake. Tastes like sour grape candy, ten calories.
Twenty minutes later
Drink it before you start, not in the middle. It holds for roughly four hours, then tapers off instead of dropping out from under you.
What it is
- A dietary supplement drink mix, sold without a prescription
- Caffeine from green tea, plus amino acids that occur naturally in tea and food
- Seven B vitamins — the same ones in an ordinary multivitamin
- Something you take on the days you need it
What it is not
- A medicine or a prescription drug
- An energy drink — a sugared 16 oz can carries around 54 grams of sugar; this has none
- A pill, a gummy or a shot
- A replacement for sleep. Nothing is.
Second question
What does it feel like?
Most people expect a rush. It is closer to the opposite — the noise gets quieter. The pull to open another tab fades, and the thing in front of you stops feeling heavy.
If you have ever had a good coffee on an empty stomach, you already know the alert half of it. Now take away the tight chest, the restless hands and the three o clock drop. That gap is the entire point of the formula.
It will not make you smarter, and it will not rescue a night with no sleep. What it does is make an ordinary brain easier to point at one thing. If you are exhausted, sleep — that is the answer, and no powder changes it. If you are simply avoiding something hard, this makes the first twenty minutes easier. It does not make the task disappear.
Third question
Why does it work?
There are eight active ingredients on the label, and they are not equals. Here is the honest hierarchy — the pair doing the heavy lifting, and the supporting cast.
The engine: caffeine + L-theanine
Caffeine works by blocking the signal that tells your brain it is tired. Effective — but on its own it also speeds up the parts you never asked it to, which is where the jitter and the racing heart come from.
L-theanine is the amino acid that makes a cup of green tea feel calmer than a coffee with the same caffeine in it. Paired together, human trials report better attention and easier switching between tasks than caffeine gives on its own, with less of the edge.
MUNIN carries 200 mg of caffeine and 100 mg of L-theanine — the two-to-one ratio those studies used.
The support: choline, amino acids, B vitamins
Alpha-GPC is a choline source. Choline is a nutrient your body converts into acetylcholine, a messenger involved in attention and memory. The reasoning is sound and the safety record is good.
But we are not going to pretend it is settled. Research on alpha-GPC in healthy adults is close to nonexistent — almost all of it was done in older people with memory decline, and even there the results are modest and mixed.
We include it at a full 300 mg because if an ingredient is on the label it should be there at a real amount. Same for the arginine, the inositol, the ginseng and the seven B vitamins: proper doses, honest expectations.
Because every other tub in this aisle names its most impressive-sounding ingredient first and lets you assume it is doing the most. We would rather you buy MUNIN for the part that genuinely holds up — and treat the rest as what it is: a well-dosed supporting cast.
The label, in plain English
Everything in one drink, and what it is for.
Two scoops, 7.5 grams. Every active with its real amount and a sentence on why it is there — and the official panel beside it, so you can check us.
Caffeine, from green tea
The alertness. About the same as two cups of coffee.
L-Theanine
The calm. An amino acid found naturally in tea leaves — the reason this does not feel like an energy drink.
Alpha-GPC
A choline source. Choline is the raw material your body uses to make acetylcholine, a messenger tied to attention and memory.
L-Arginine
An amino acid used to support normal blood flow. Your brain has no fuel of its own — it runs on what your blood delivers.
Inositol
A compound involved in how brain cells pass messages to one another.
Asian ginseng
A root used for centuries for stamina and everyday tiredness.
Black pepper extract
Helps the rest absorb properly. Unglamorous, and necessary.
B-complex, 33% DV each
B1, B2, B3, B6, folate, B12 and pantothenic acid — ordinary vitamins your body spends fastest when you are running hard.

You will see “proprietary blend” on a lot of tubs. It means the brand lists its ingredients but hides how much of each it used — which lets it name something expensive on the front while adding almost none of it. There is no proprietary blend here. Every number above is printed on the tub itself.

The part people are too polite to ask
Is it safe for me?
Is it a drug?
No. It is a dietary supplement and it needs no prescription. The active ingredients are caffeine, a few amino acids that occur in tea and food, a choline compound and B vitamins.
Will it make me anxious?
200 mg of caffeine is real caffeine. The L-theanine is there precisely to take the edge off it, and for most people it does. But if a strong coffee already makes you anxious, start with one scoop instead of two and find your level.
Can I get hooked on it?
Caffeine builds tolerance, and stopping suddenly after daily use can give you a headache for a day or two. 200 mg is about two coffees — so treat it the way you already treat coffee. On the days you need it, not automatically every morning.
Will it stop me sleeping?
It can. Caffeine has a half-life of roughly five hours, which means half of it is still in you five hours after the glass. Take it before 2 p.m. if you sleep lightly.
Can I still have coffee?
Yes, but count the total. One serving already puts you at about two cups. Never more than 5 scoops in 24 hours.
Who should not take it at all?
Anyone under 18. Anyone pregnant or nursing. And anyone with a medical condition or on medication should ask their doctor before starting — that is not a formality, it is the sensible thing to do. It is manufactured in a facility that also handles milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans and sesame.
Against what you already drink
How does it compare to my coffee?
Same question, four columns. Read across and take whichever one you actually want — we are not going to pretend coffee is bad for you.

Energy drink figures are the published values of the leading sugared 16 oz cans. Coffee figure is the USDA average for 8 fl oz brewed.
Everything else
The rest of the small stuff.
What does it actually taste like?
Sour grape — closer to a grape sour candy than to grape juice. Tart rather than sweet, and meant to be drunk cold. Ten calories, no sugar, sweetened with sucralose.
Does it dissolve, or do I get sludge at the bottom?
It dissolves in cold water with a normal stir, and a shaker bottle makes it faster. Some settling inside the tub is normal — powder always settles in transit, which is why supplements are sold by weight rather than by how full the tub looks.
How soon do I feel it, and how long does it last?
Twenty to thirty minutes in, and roughly four hours of useful time. Drink it before the thing you are dreading, not halfway through it.
What if I do not feel anything?
Then you are probably well past 200 mg of caffeine on a normal day. If you drink four coffees before noon, this will feel unremarkable. Try it on a morning when you have not had any caffeine yet and you will notice the difference properly.
Do I have to take it every day?
No, and we would rather you did not. It is built for the days that ask more of you. Taking caffeine every single day is how tolerance creeps up and the effect fades.
Is it vegetarian? Gluten free?
Both. Also alcohol free and sugar free. Made in the USA, in a facility that also handles milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans and sesame — worth knowing if you have a serious allergy.
How does shipping work?
It is calculated from the real weight of your box at checkout, so you see the exact figure before you pay and nothing is added afterwards. Three tubs travel in a single box for one shipping charge, instead of paying it three times across three orders.
What if I change my mind?
Returns and refunds run under the Refund Policy linked at the bottom of every page — worth a read before you order so there are no surprises. If something arrives damaged or wrong, send us one photo and we will sort it out.
What it costs
One tub is twenty drinks.
About two dollars a drink. A latte from a coffee shop is five, and does roughly half of this.
About shipping, honestly
Free shipping is never free. It gets priced into the sticker, and you pay the same padding whether your parcel weighs 150 grams or a kilo. We do it the other way round: the carrier weighs your box, you see the real number at checkout before you pay, and nothing is added afterwards.
Which is the second reason the bundles win. Three tubs travel in one box and carry one shipping charge — buying them one at a time, across three orders, means paying it three times.
Crossed-out prices are what the same tubs cost bought one at a time.
